Independent referral service: calls connect you with participating North Carolina restoration companies. How it works

About

About North Carolina Water Damage

North Carolina Water Damage is a statewide referral service that connects North Carolina homeowners, landlords, and property managers with participating independent water damage restoration companies. We are not a restoration contractor.

What we do

We do two things. First, we publish practical information about water damage in North Carolina: what to do in the first hours, what restoration involves, what it typically costs, how insurance treats burst pipes versus floods, and what's different about each city we cover. Every statistic on the site links to its source.

Second, we provide a phone number. When you call it, your call is routed to a participating independent restoration company that serves your area, if one is available.

What we don't do

  • We don't employ restoration technicians, own equipment, or operate facilities.
  • We don't inspect, price, or perform any restoration work.
  • We don't guarantee that a company is available in every location or at every hour.
  • We don't vouch for a specific company's license, insurance, or workmanship. Each participating company is an independent business responsible for its own work.
  • We don't publish reviews, ratings, or project photos we can't verify. Images on this site are illustrative, not photos of completed jobs.

How referrals work

  1. You call (980) 217-5532 and describe where the property is and what happened.
  2. Your call is routed to a participating independent restoration company that covers your area, when one is available. Availability depends on your ZIP code and how busy companies are.
  3. You deal with that company directly. It inspects the damage, gives you an estimate, and performs any work you agree to, under its own name, license, and insurance. You're under no obligation to hire it.

We don't charge you for the referral. Participating companies, or the network that routes calls to them, may pay for referrals. That's how this site is funded.

Before you hire any company

Whether you find a restoration company through us or anywhere else, ask:

  • Is the company insured, and will it put the estimate in writing before work beyond emergency extraction starts?
  • For larger jobs, does it hold a North Carolina general contractor license? The state requires one for projects of $40,000 or more.
  • Are its technicians trained to the IICRC S500 water damage standard?
  • Will it provide daily moisture readings and photos for your insurance claim?
  • Does it handle repairs after drying, or only mitigation?

Where we cover

Calls are accepted from anywhere in North Carolina. We publish detailed local pages for: Charlotte, Wilmington, Cary, Gastonia, Raleigh. More cities are being added.
